I recently purchased this cooling stand for my Xbox 360 Slim and have been pleasantly surprised. Normally, with other fans for 360s, they are either very noisy, or are low quality and don't move a lot of air. This cooling stand, however, is nearly whisper quiet and moves an incredible amount of air for the size of the 2 fans inside. They are located in the foremost 50% of the stand and draw air from the top, downward and out vents underneath. The cooling stand has small, raised rubber feet which keep it just off of the surface it is setting on enabling the air to move downward and away from the console. Upon plugging the fan into a USB port I found that it does not automatically turn itself on. Instead there is a small switch on the back of the stand to activate the fans. Once turned on the fans whirr to life and begin moving large amounts of air, very quickly, through the stand. I am very pleased with this cooling fan. This is definitely worth purchasing for the life of your Xbox and games. Prior to purchasing this, I already had to replace one game because of damage done to the disc from heat. You can definitely tell a big difference in the heating of the console while running the cooling fan. I always turn the fan on when turning on the console and leave the fan running for about 10 to 15 minutes after turning the console off to keep it as cool as possible. I would recommend this to anyone who values the life of their Xbox consoles and games!!!

WOW, I did not think it was possible to keep the X-Box Slim cool as I tried every thing, small box fan, laptop cooling pad and they had mixed results. So when I saw this item up for sale I pondered its ability to keep the X-Box cool and was I pleasantly surprised! It has 2 fans to keep up with the heat from the X-Box and it works very well as opposed to no fan at all. It is a bit loud but then so is the X-Box, it keeps it cooler but it still is warm to the touch but not HOT. It fits like a glove and gives the Slim a sturdy stand to sit on and not so wobbly. So to all X-Box Slim owners GET THIS as you will be glad you picked one up....
