Bought this item as a replacement for the standard cheap Microsoft headset. The headset appears to be good quality and plugs in much better than the original MS version. One of the best features is the mute/volume controls. They are close to the thumbs instead of half way up the wire on the original. Also the volume has the ability to be turned up louder.

The draw backs are; earcovers (headphone part) are large and in the way if you are relaxing in a couch or on a bed. However, the most annoying thing about this headset is it way too tight. After five minutes playing your ears will be hurting and you'll have to remove them. The ear cup pads seem to be soft enough to the touch but the pressure of the set just hurts. Just to make sure it wasn't me I have let a few people try them (didn't tell them what to expect) and they all said these are way too tight.

Glad I only paid $8.50 for them.
