This review is from: Xbox 360 Game Talk Wireless Headset (Accessory) I decided to buy this headset because i really wanted a wireless solution but have read alot of negative things about the official Microsoft ones. I preordered this with the free super saver shipping received it a few days after release. First let me say that sound quality wise the headset is great. The headset is fairly comfortable except for the plastic piece that sits opposite the speaker. The photos don't do it justice. It's a rigid HARD plastic. Also the instructions aren't correct either, It says you will get about 8 hours of talk - time on the site and the box actually only says 3. I never got more than about 2. Also the instructions say you will hear a beep at 15 min of charge left and then another at 5 min left. I would hear a beep then about 2 min later it would just shut off. Now to the main issue. I used this headset a total of 3 times before it stopped working. Just last night it died and as I went to plug it in, the lights started doing their ascending flash...Read more 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Xbox 360 Game Talk Wireless Headset (Accessory) I have tried the original Microsoft wireless headset and a newer model in black and have several friends that have tried them as well. We've all been complaining about the fact that they disconnect repeatedly throughout the gaming session and the chat comes across the tv. I decided to give the one by Datel a shot. Since I've used the Datel, I cannot recall one time that it has disconnected. It works identical in design to the Microsoft one in terms of function and controls. It even does the same beep as the Microsoft when muted. My only setbacks with this headset is that the battery lasts 3 hours at best. As the other reviewer said, it only alerts you once before going dead. I've noticed that after about an hour of use, I have to reposition the headset as it is not as comfortable as the Microsoft one which I could wear all night. The sound is much better than a wired headset, but not quite as sharp as the Microsoft wireless headset.
Overall, I'm very pleased that...Read more 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Xbox 360 Game Talk Wireless Headset (Accessory) I've gone through three microsoft wireless headsets in 2 years so I decided to try this one out because I've had nothing but problems with the microsoft ones (very uncomfortable, constantly dropping connection, not keeping battery charge, loud buzzing/feedback when chatting, ultra-sensitive mic which easily picks up surround sound speakers). This headset definitely has a better mic but the earpiece is pretty loud even when the volume is on its lowest setting making it hard to hear players at times. The over-the-head design is slightly more comfortable than the microsoft headset but nothing special (I can at least sit through a whole gaming session without being distracted by the headset, but the padding on the earpiece comes off too easily). The main disappointment with this headset is the battery life: average life is about two and a half hours which is unfortunate because if the life was better, then this headset would definitely be worth buying over the microsoft one. As it stands,...Read more |
