Product Description
White plastic got you bummed out? Swap that eyesore Xbox 360 white case for one of our Clear Ghost Cases. This is the most complete 360 case on the market, with high quality plastic that gives the appearance of glass (nobody wants murky clouded plastic cases)! This is the only case in the world that comes with a clear DVD drive lid, which actually lets you the DVD spinning while you play! Inside this amazing kit is also a clear fan tunnel, without this vital piece you wouldn't even be able to see your circuit board! This piece opens up the whole inside of your console so you can see everything going on inside (this also allows for your custom lighting kit to light up everything in the case)!

Summary: Im pretty happy with it though some things you should know 2010-07-26
Comment: 4 Complaints:
-one zero instructions (had to youtube it and custom make the ghost tray work so I could watch it spin without the stock dvd box)

-two lights were doa but I think my back fan output is dead since 1/4 lights I tryed and 0/2 fans work for it.

-Four my console overheats in about 2-5mins now but I had another case that did the same, even with whisper fans inside. I recommend never changing your console case if you dont want to buy a whole lot of fans for it. My originally cased 360 fan died and it still never overheated. I think the metal plate you have to take off to put on custom cases (cause it wont fit with them on) absorbed a lot of the heat.

Other than that its great, snaps on much better than another black case I had, and not as hard to open up as the original 360. The case is very glossy and comes with everything you need to open it.

Summary: Good case, but doesn't snap in the back 2010-07-09
Comment: This is a really good case, it comes with everything you need to take the old case apart, and put this one on. It includes a kit, which was a huge plus. The only thing that the kit didn't come with, were rubber feet to put on the bottom portion of the case. (Not a big deal, but it would've been nice)

I tore apart my Xbox Elite and realized that there was a clear piece that you can put over top the DVD drive. I was a bit wary of tearing apart my DVD drive, but I looked for it on here [Amazon] and found out that it was only $40 if I messed it up. I had the BenQ Lite-on drive, and that was a bit of work to get finished. Once I had that done, I figured out where I was going to mount my LEDs that came with the case. I decided that on both sides of the case would be fine. The plug for the LEDs works as a bridge from your DVD drive, to the DVD drive power plug. Once everything was in place, I put the case together. Everything came together nicely until I got to the back portion of the case - it wouldn't completely snap together. Everything seemed to be a really tight fit.
Once everything was together I plugged it in to test it, it looked really sweet. Once I took a DVD out and placed another in, I got a hardware error. But after tweaking the DVD drive, it fixed the problem.

Another issue, although not a big deal, is the power button. You really have to press hard on the button in order for it to work. Also, this was noted in a previous review, but the LEDs in the Xbox are scattered in all directions (as opposed to being focused on the plastic on the OEM case). This makes it hard to distinguish if the Xbox is on, and if any controllers are connected in a bright lit room.

Aside from those few quirks, it is a really good case.

Summary: Great, after you get it installed 2010-05-27
Comment: Luckily, I read the directions from GC's website before attempting this. I'll start out on a positive note, it looks awesome after you get it on the XBOX.

That being said, (with the DVD mod) it took me almost 4 hours to get this thing perfect, even then it's about a 97% good fit.

I have BenQ drive, and the DVD mod fits the drive, but requires a small shim to bring the plastic piece down a little bit (I rolled up a small piece of electrical tape to shim with and placed it between the side of the drive and one of the plastic clips. Only on one side is needed).

My drive was a little lopsided from the day M$ sent it back to me after a 3RLoD repair, so I also had to shim the drive up a little bit so the door would open with the new case.

The case does not clip together (or unclip) very easily, it does eventually though.

THINGS TO LOOK OUT FOR WHEN INSTALLING:

1) There is a metal tab on the back of the XBOX internal body, bend that in, or the case won't line up.
2) Test the DVD drive before you put on the top panel, then test after you put on the top panel. The tightening of the screws can sometimes cause the drive to bend a little, but this would be enough to cause an issue. If it is buzzing, back off the tightness on the screws for the drive (there are four on the bottom that go through the drive posts).
3) Bend the metal tab on the back of the XBOX internal case, or the shell will not line up right.
4) Watch the clips on the face plate, I broke one... they're very fragile. (bought a carbon FP, looks awesome).
5) You can route the wire for the LEDs under the DVD drive so you don't have to worry about it getting caught in the disc drive.
6) Check your drive door alignment BEFORE attaching the bottom, if it looks crooked, I can almost guarantee the door won't open when you put it all together.
7) Line the vent holes up on the back to ensure proper alignment.

That's it, good luck. After it's all done, it looks great! Remember, the smoke case doesn't really show off much of the inside, it's hard to see in there. If you're going for super transparency go for the clear case.

Comment: LOOKS AWESOME! SHIPPED FAST AND FIT PRETTY GOOD FOR AN AFTERMARKET KIT. WISH WOULD HAVE KNOW THAT IT CAME WITH THE CLEAR TOP FOR THE DISC DRIVE AND THE TOOLS TO TAKE APART MY XBOX. I BOUGHT THOSE SEPERATE SO NOW HAVE DOUBLE. NOT REAL UPSET CUZ GAVE THEM TO BRO ANYWAY. Only thing i am worried about is the adheasive holding up to the heat of the box. I also put a better fan in my box so should take care of the heat but still put the strips in spots where shouldn't cause any harm if they drop. All together i am very satisfied with this setup.

Comment: Excellent product. I absolutely love it. I like black and blue (my 2 favorite colors). When my 360 is off it just looks black and then you get the background lights when it is on. Take your time when you put it together, I didn't and snapped a clip off of the back. It is durable though and still looks good.
