This "window cutting tool" couldn't be more of a waste of money. I thought from the pictures that it would have some sort of blade, or something to efficiently cut the xbox.. nope! Instead, it works kinda like a hole punch, where you squeeze the handles together and it takes off a very small chunk.. after about 25 minutes and maybe 5 inches cut out of it (which doesn't even cut in a straight line) I gave up and used a regular ol' jigsaw.. took about a minute.. be careful not to let the blade get too hot, or else it will just melt the plastic after it cuts it, which kind of defeats the purpose.. but after all of that, and the sanding, it turned out great.. DO NOT BUY THIS TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!

I've done a lot of modeling with plastics over the years, geez I wish I would have had one of these. Yes, your jigsaw can work--with a fine blade and a lot of care to not melt the plastic. Yes, you can heat up a X-acto and melt your way thru this one step at a time, giving yourself lung cancer in the process from the fumes you will get from burning the residue left on the knife.
OR--you can buy this little tool, and ever so carefully and patiently use it to cut the straightest edge you can imagine, leaving not much, if any, room for mistakes. It's a wonderful world to not have to re-order parts that you messed up from cutting them and then having the knife slip, the saw blade break mid-stride into a cut, etc. Buy the thing and use it patiently and you won't regret it. If you are in a hurry, take your project to have someone else do it anyhow because if it's worth doing--it may be worth doing slowly to get it right the first time.
AND--I purchased my cutter for...Read more
