I do both Singstar and Rock Band with friends and family and was hoping this would solve the problems inherent in a wired mic (people tripping on it, etc). However, the mics only sometimes seem to work at all with Rock Band, and have a high pitched squealing sound when they do work in either game. It may be different for the Wii, but I can't recommend them to anyone otherwise. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By Masodark (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews = Fun: This review is from: Wii/PS3/PS2/PC Perfect Sound Wireless Karaoke Microphones (Accessory) Bought it so my wife can play rock band with me on the Wii. Hooked it up through wireless and it works great. She can move around the room and it picks up her voice no problem. It is a real microphone and comes with an adapter and wire you can use to plug it into an amplifier or karaoke machine if you were so inclined.
The only downside is that both the wireless transmitter and microphone use batteries and must be switched on when you are ready to play. In addition, you must use the wiimote to join the band and make song selections. So it gets a little cumbersome to setup, but I would think this would be the case with any microphone that wasn't specifically designed for use with Rockband. However I would still definitely recommend it. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: = Fun: This review is from: Wii/PS3/PS2/PC Perfect Sound Wireless Karaoke Microphones (Accessory) COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! DO NOT PURCHASE!
I bought this microphone pair to use with Rock Band 2 and Sing Star on my PS3. The sound quality is HORRIBLE, both with and without the cord. There is a constant, loud buzzing sound, and your voice sounds like you are speaking through a busted intercom speaker. I tried both microphones, in both ports, in various locations, from various distances, both with the cable and without it. Nothing would get rid of the horrible sound. The microphones feel pretty solid, but the wireless antenna loosely fits into the end of the mic. It BARELY stays in, and it would not stand up to any moderately-hard "rocking" at your next party. Another disappointing bit is that the microphone takes a AA battery, and the receiver takes a AA battery (even though it is plugged directly into the USB dongle port!) Having both microphones coming out of a single USB port is useful, but why does there have to be a...Read more |
