Samsung TS-H943A Replacement DVD drive for XBox 360, MS28 Version

To everyone that's buying this and it only reads movies etc but does not play games. YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS. Either you can flash the firmware for the circuit board inside the new drive , OR you can do the easier task and just take the circuit board out of your old drive and swap it with the one in your new drive. Then there is no need to flash. Just make sure you keep your old drive and take it apart and get the board disconnected from it. Once you take off the four screws and remove the cover on the old CD ROM Drive , the green PC board is right there. There is like 4 ribbon cables to remove and then its a direct replacement and fit into your new drive. Remember you have to also take out the green board in your new drive and swap it with the one in your old drive so you will have one worthless pc board from this new drive that you can not use. It's 100% working for me to replace the DVD-ROM of my 360 without flashing.
First of all, I need to tell you the most important thing for my fix is
"the model of the original DVD-ROM is same as the model of the new DVD-ROM I bought, TS-H943"

I guess this is the key that I do NOT need to involve into the process of ROM flashing.

At first, open the 360, then take an old part from the original drive that holds the ROM identity. I followed this video to take the part out

and replace this part to the new drive.
The last thing you gotta do is just putting the new drive back to the 360.

It took me around 30 mins for the whole process.
For me, the hardest part is "Open the 360"

got this to swap out my old drive, laser wasnt working, swapped logic boards and it worked like a charm. been over a month now and no big issues. With just a few tools its a easy swap for anyone to do. Great product, great price. thanks -Dustin
