The Club

Fight as a modern-day mercenary gladiator in The Club, an underground blood-sport in which ruthless killers try earn respect and infamy in deathmatches.
The Club takes the explosive action of the shooter genre and blends it with break-neck speed of high-octane race titles to create a radically new kind of action experience. Players will blast through a secretive tournament known only as The Club, where the world's rich and powerful watch merciless fighters test their skills. While highly trained and effectively brutal, most combatants find themselves forced to participate. The posse of urban warriors represents a variety of countries and backgrounds. They share almost nothing in common except for participating in the ultimate blood sport where the only reward is survival. Offering frantic, fast paced gameplay with a unique style, tone and storyline that drips with energy, attitude and anarchy, The Club is a showcase for the capabilities of the next-gen platforms by maximizing the graphical and audio technology available to give a gameplay experience that is second to none. It focuses on addictive and rewarding gameplay that tests your skills to the limit and expands it beyond.
The Club will feature eight different multiplayer modes for up to eight players at a time. Players will choose one of eight unique fighters each with their own combat techniques and representing a variety of countries and backgrounds in an attempt to stay alive in the most ruthless underground elite fighting club.

Summary: Great, if you allow it... 2008-09-05
Comment: I played the demo and thought "not for 60 bucks". I found it at the bullseye store for 25 the other day and would give it a shot. It is worth 25 bucks and is quite fun if you like to replay games and beat your high scores. I liked that. I even played the tutorial level over and over to find all of the skulls and hidden skulls and what not. It is a fun game if you allow it to be. Sure, you can blow through it quickly, but that is not the game design. I do recommend this game, it is fun. I always like beating my own high scores and friends rather than random people I have never met. Good times.

Comment: This is a different game from the ordinary, but there just isn't enough to seperate it from the crowd of games. The game is funner than in it is good though. The game is really easy to pick up and isn't all that hard to play. The leaderboards are neat and so is the scoring system. The only big strike to the game is that you can beat it in under 3 hours, maybe even 2 hours. The game is fun and is worth picking up for about 20 dollars, but much more than that is a bad deal. All in all if you like competitive scoring based games, in which I do, than you will like this new spin on third person action.
