The expense goes further with the requirement of a WIRED Controller. Make sure its an Official Microsoft Wired Controller too. Third party Ones may not be reliable. *****BTW... A Wireless Controller hooked up with a USB Charge & Play Kit WILL NOT WORK (I Tried IT). The adapter needs to be digitally signed through a USB connection. The Wireless Controller will only draw power from the USB C&P Kit but will still connect wirelessly.***** After you have gotten your max Shooter and your wired controller you are ready. the instructions are really simple and you can have a config on your keyboard how you like it in minutes. The PS2 controller connection works beautifully. The keyboard works flawlessly whether USB or PS/2 connected. The mouse is the issue. There is no automatic magical conversion. This review is from: Max Shooter for Xbox 360 (DVD-ROM) I bought this after trying to play COD4 (First Person Shooter) for xbox 360 and getting beaten constantly. I originally played all FPS games on PC and was used to the good old keyboard and mouse setup. Aiming with the 360 controller seemed way too awkward. Well the Maxx shooter seemed to be the answer to my prayers, guess what, it's wasn't. First off, I had to buy a wired xbox controller to make it work, that's an extra $40 down the drain. Second, it only has 2 USB ports. One for the xbox controller leaving only one for your mouse/keyboard. Ended up having to get a PS2 keyboard instead. After all this the unit worked as advertised less one important thing. You can't aim to save you life. The conversion of mouse movements to xbox controller motions is complete crap. The cursor jumps all over the place, and the tracking is horrible. After trying on 3 separate occassions to get the settings just right, including using the in game sensitivity settings, using different mice, I gave up. If...Read more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) It sucks that you have to use a wired game controller to get it to work but, this helps to get around the "non-MS" certified devices that MS kicks out with each update. FYI, keep in mind that some A/V receivers have a 5ms delay between the video and audio. |
