This is just this, a VGA HDAV (High-Def Audio/Video) cable. I don't know why, but Amazon does this thing where it posts reviews of similar products in other products pages (for example, posting the same reviews for hard/softcover books). Somehow, the 360 Ethernet Cable and "HDMI" cable have been marked as just different versions of this cable, which is in NO WAY similar to those other two different products. Now, for this cable itself: Yes, it is a VGA cable. Yes, it lets you hook up your Xbox 360 to a computer monitor for true HD video. Yes, it is a third-party product, so the quality is "lower." However, I find that the quality difference between this cable and the Microsoft cable is negligible (I own both). Side-by-side, this cable doesn't give as true of a "black" as the Microsoft version, but I...Read more 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: By = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Pelican Accessories Live Wire 10 Inch VGA HD A/V Cable for Xbox 360 (Video Game) If you have an LCD monitor for your PC, but don't have an HDTV, this is a fantastic way to experience your 360 in HD. Connect the VGA to your LCD, and the audio to whatever you please, set the resolution in the 360 dashboard, and enjoy! I had absolutely no problems in getting this up and running, and the only complaint I have about it is that the audio cables spawn at the VGA plug instead of at the 360 end of the cable, so you may need to buy some RCA extensions. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Pelican Accessories Live Wire 10 Inch VGA HD A/V Cable for Xbox 360 (Video Game) I ordered this cable because I didn't want to purchase a HDTV for my office just to play Xbox games on. When I received the cable I noticed that I had two male ends; the cable from my monitor is hard wired, so I could just disconnect the monitor cable and plug this one in. The remedy was to order a gender changer, which I purchased through Amazon. The shipping for the gender changer cost more than the changers itself, but in total it was around 6 dollars. Now that everything is hooked up, I am very happy with the product. I actually went back to my nice big Sony television after playing on my 17 inch monitor and was a very surprised as to how I've gotten used to the better quaility from my LCD monitor. Oblivion rocks with this thing. The sound output is good. I plugged it into my stereo and it works just fine. Now all I need is a TV tuner card for my computer and I can get rid of the TV all together. In short,...Read more |
