I own both Karaoke Revolution and Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Encore. This game is the better of the two as you can go into career mode and you have 3 disks you can complete. There are a lot of really fun songs. It also automatically imports songs you previously bought from the Xbox Live store if you own the American Idol games. There are very few songs available to purchase on the actual Karaoke Revolution disk. I also think the gauge is a lot more accurate on this game than the American Idol one. You can do a quick play, career mode or party mode. Either way, it's definitely a lot of fun. When in career mode you will do either short songs, full songs, full songs in which you have to rank in a certain percentile, 3 songs melodies, 3 song setlists, and 5 song setlists. There are a range of songs from pop to rock to classics to some country (the newer poppier country artists).
