Cocoon - a utopia in the sky. Its inhabitants believed their world a paradise. Under the Sanctum's rule, Cocoon had long known peace and prosperity. Mankind was blessed by its protectors, the benevolent fal'Cie, and believed that tranquil days would continue forever. Their tranquillity was shattered with the discovery of one hostile fal'Cie. The moment that fal'Cie from Pulse - the feared and detested lowerworld - awoke from its slumber, peace on Cocoon came to an end. Fal'Cie curse humans, turning them into magic-wielding servants. They become l'Cie - chosen of the fal'Cie. Those branded with the mark of a l'Cie carry the burden of either fulfilling their Focus or facing a fate harsher than death itself. A prayer for redemption. A wish to protect the world. A promise to challenge destiny. After thirteen days of fates intertwined, the battle begins. Set several years after Lightning and the others saved Cocoon, some survivors have decided to start over by rebuilding on Gran Pulse. Lightning, however, is nowhere to be found and thought dead by many, but Serah believes otherwise. When her town is suddenly overrun by monsters, a mysterious man named Noel appears to save her. ***Collector's Edition*** contents: Special digipack packaging, including slipcase; 4-disc Official Soundtrack; Contents of concept art book, bound directly into the packaging

Being utterly, utterly disappointed with the original F.F. 13, I was convinced I would not buy this game. And especially not the collector's edition. Yet, Amazon somehow baited me into buying both the Collector's Edition + The Official Strategy guide for $100. FML.

Anyways, a few pleasant surprises in regards to the COLLECTOR's EDITION:

1) The packaging is top notch. The art book that they hyped up as being part of the case is actually just a few pages long, so that was disappointing. However, everything has a high quality feel to it.
2) The Music CDs - 4 CD's long, and they are elaborately encased. Very nice to look at. I listened to a few of them, and if you have a decent speaker system they will sound pleasant. I didn't feel like the music was overly awesome or anything compared to previous FFs, but they are pretty nice to listen to and match the game very well.

These are the only benefits of the collector's edition. Well worth the extra...Read more

By general rule I don't expect much of game sequels, specially after the fiasco of Final Fantasy X-2; however Final Fantasy XIII-2 has managed to prove quite fun indeed. It's a rather catching game, that has enough of the FF-XIII game dynamics with a couple of add-ons that make it a bit more interesting. Paradigm change seems faster and allows to do a little more tweaking of the system. The idea of time travel has been as far not explored on any Final Fantasy game (the bit on 8 doesn't count)so that made it quite interesting; it reminded me a bit of Chrono Trigger, one of my all time favorites. The game system is ok enough, and the new Crystarium is easy enough to handle (at least for characters, had a couple of difficulties with monsters). A HUGE plus of this game is the music, the Collector's Edition comes with 4 CD of the music, that I've found quite enjoyable by itself, and also as in-game.

Negative points, Crystarium seems a bit restrictive, pretty much after level 60...Read more

This game is a pretty good continuation of FFXIII. It has similar gameplay and past characters show up a few times, but there are just a couple problems that may mess up the gamer, like the lack of change throughout the game. Though the story is great, the battle style, though cool at first, will eventually get a little boring. Gamers will have to make sure to explore all the horizons of FFXIII-2 while playing, otherwise they will not get enough of an experience.
