This was, much to my surprise, a brand new Samsung drive laser. It was exactly the same shape, layout, and form factor as the laser it replaced. Worked flawlessly the first try.

Don't forget to desolder the ESD jumper before you install it, though.

I'm happy that I stumbled upon this replacement dvd laser lens because I was about to just throw my xbox 360 in the trash. It's really cheap even with shipping. Most of the replacement hitachi drives that are available are either used or refurbished and cost a good amount of money when you include shipping. Prior to replacing the lens I was getting disc scratch errors and graphic errors. Just a reminder, DO NOT FORGET TO DESOLDER THE ESD near the ribbon connection or else you would get an OPEN TRAY error even though you put a game disc inside it.
