First of all I'm glad this product exists, second of all I'm glad amazon had a generic one because the Microsoft one costs a lot more, and third this is way better than the solution I first thought of.

So I have a projector and the kinect was kinda weird using at first because I had it on a desk in front of the projector, but it couldn't see me right because of the depth of the desk. After rearranging my room and no longer having a desk under the projector screen I decided I needed to put up a shelf for the kinect. I couldn't find something decent and small enough for it that didn't stick out too much and was worried that my cat would probably knock it down sooner or later.

With this mount that I installed in about a minute I was all set. I ran the kinect tuner again and kinect can see my whole body now and there's room for the kinect to move up and down without hitting the wall.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Kinect cable is only so...Read more

Received this item and though it doesnt come with any real instructions, its pretty straight forward. The black curved plastic piece attaches to your Kinect. The metal frame slides out of the plastic mount. You make a level line on your wall, screw the mount into the wall, making sure its perfectly level as not to cause issues with your Kinect. **Be sure to hold the metal frame from below as you are sliding the plastic mount over it. It takes a little force to push the mount down**

This helped me immensely as the Kinect is notorious for requiring a lot of space. The extra foot or so that I gained from moving this against the wall from in front of my TV gave me more room to move around.

One last note. If you happen to buy a wall-mount after you have set up your Kinect, be sure to go into the Kinect Tuning function. This will change the angle and refocus the Kinect so it sees you properly. If you dont do this, you'll likely get frustrated and never commit...Read more

This product is sturdy, easy to install and aesthetically pleasing. The kinect device snaps secure onto the base. Will definitely recommend.
