RCA Audio Cable Adapter for XBOX 360 + Slim

I bought this because my TV takes HDMI but cannot output sound to my surround sound receiver. I use the optical port for the digital surround sound. I really wish the Xbox 360 wasn't built with the need for such a niche adapter but, that being said, this does exactly what its supposed to do. Also, a nice little bonus is that all the connectors are gold plated which adds a premium look to the product. 5 stars cause it works perfectly for me.

I purchased this product to use optical audio out with HDMI on my xbox. With this dongle plugged in, my XBOX restarts if I switch inputs on my monitor or switch the monitor off then back on. Xbox acts normal without the dongle plugged in.

I found that these non-genuine versions are missing a connection between pins inside the connector. Google "xbox hdmi optical restart" and look for an avsforum result. You will need to connect two pins via a wire or soldering.

I have filed a complaint on my purchase so we'll see if I can get a refund since it does not work as it should.

When you have your TV on and plug the cable in the system will restart. Then if using display discovery the system will not turn on and will not send the video signal through the hdmi cable until the audio dongle is unplugged. It is for whatever reason having problems with the HDCP. I tried the tape trick and haven't gotten it working yet.

Would not reccomend.
